After taking their fair share of lumps at New York University’s invitational meet on Jan. 27, the Yale fencing teams rebounded with easy wins at the University of Pennsylvania this past Saturday.

The men’s team (4-5, 1-0 Ivy) defeated Penn 17-10. Bryon Igoe ’04 won all three of his sabre bouts as the Bulldogs took the event 7-2. Yale also won the epee 6-3 but fell to the Quakers (6-3, 1-1 Ivy) in the foil 5-4.

The women’s team (8-2, 2-0 Ivy) beat the Quakers 20-7, winning the sabre 8-1, the foil 7-2, and the epee 5-4. Jennifer Joseph ’04 and team captain Zane Selkirk ’04 both went 3-0 in the foil.

The Yale fencers next face Columbia at home on Saturday.
