At least one person wants to be a Harvard student.

A Harvard Extension School student posed as a Harvard undergraduate and a man by the same description tried to rush Sigma Chi and run for secretary of the Harvard Republican Club, the Harvard Crimson reported.

The Harvard Extension School offers part-time study in the evenings to community members.

A counselor said that while police were checking the identity of the student he “fled the building through a window and descended three flights down an outdoor metal fire escape,” the Crimson reported.

The Crimson said the student did not get tapped by Sigma Chi, and withdrew his name from contention for the Harvard Republican Club the day before elections.

The president of the chapter of Sigma Chi said the student continued to call Sigma Chi members to find out what they were doing on the weekend, the Crimson reported.

The Crimson quoted the president of the Harvard Republican Club as saying that the student posed as a transfer student from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
