New Haven police are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a man in the Hill neighborhood Tuesday.
David Rigsbee, 18, of 71 Barclay St., was found in a late-model Ford Probe suffering from a gunshot wound to the head at the intersection of Barclay and Washington Avenue — just over one block from his home.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at Yale-New Haven Hospital shortly afterward, police said.
Lt. Bryan Norwood, the New Haven Police Department’s top detective, said police are investigating whether the automobile belonged to Rigsbee and if it played a part in the fatal shooting. No weapons were found at the scene of the crime.
Norwood added that the NHPD investigation is still in its early stages and that police are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
