Yale wide receiver Billy Brown ’02 had a career game Saturday in the Bulldogs’ 40-13 win over Cornell and was recognized yesterday for his efforts, as he was named the Ivy League offensive player of the week.

Brown grabbed nine catches for 177 yards and scored three touchdowns. His touchdown reception total for the game matches a school record, which has been set on seven separate occasions. His 177 receiving yards has only been surpassed by current 49er tight end Eric Johnson ’01 and Gary Fencik ’76.

In his first career start, the senior wideout from East Cleveland also set career-highs for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in a game.
