New Haven police arrested two men this weekend in connection with two separate 2000 murders.

Troy Little, 19, of Hamden turned himself into police early Monday morning and was charged with the Aug. 17 murder of Kishawn Council, 26. Council had been found shot to death on the back porch of 25-27 Lilac St. in the Newhallville neighborhood.

Michael Dyson, a federal marshal from New Haven, saw Little in New York and convinced him to surrender. Dyson took Little back to New Haven, where Little turned himself in at the police department.

On Friday, officers on patrol apprehended Timothy Townsend, 21, of Orchard Place, who was wanted in connection with the Oct. 30 murder of Theron McFadden. Townsend was held on $1 million bond.

McFadden was found shot in front of 91 Rosette St. in the Hill neighborhood.
