After failing miserably to meet the President during his jaunt to West Point this past December, crack reporter Jordan Schneider redeemed himself by making it to the President’s speech at Cooper Union this past Thursday with no insurmountable hitches.

Obama’s talk focused on Wall Street regulation. But perhaps more entertaining than the President’s address was the reception given to New York Gov. David Paterson by the audience at the start of the talk. President Obama thanked Rep. Carolyn Maloney, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg in succession. They all received rousing applause.

However, when Obama announced Paterson’s presence, the audience was nearly silent.
