From the Editors

Welcome! We are so glad you are here. The Yale Daily News Magazine has gone through many changes over its 30-year history, and as we step into this new role as editors, we look forward to making it even better.

In its 125th year of production, the Yale Daily News managing board has taken over the management of the Magazine, sharing writers, photographers, editors and production and design staffers. We hope this change will enable us to streamline our coverage to better complement the daily newspaper and to make this publication more accessible and entertaining for you.

It’s going to be different and it’s going to be fun. We are preserving the strengths of the old Magazine — strong features, fiction and nonfiction — and adding some new touches, such as the “Best of New Haven” section and regular columns. Look to the Magazine for photo essays and more in-depth coverage of Yale and New Haven.

Perhaps the most visible change is the Magazine’s new format. You will find the Magazine inserted in the newspaper once a month with your Thursday morning breakfast, as well as online at www.yaledailynews.com/magazine. We hope this will make the Magazine easy to read and easy to find.

We are honored to continue this great tradition and excited to bring you our managing board’s first issue of the Yale Daily News Magazine.
