Clery Act amended

On Monday, U.S. Department of Education announced its final set of amendments to the Clery Act, which requires universities receiving federal funding to report crimes on and around campus.

Police arrest Webster Bank robbery suspect

Police identified the suspect as Derrell Soulds, 38, labeled a parole absconder by NHPD spokesman David Hartman in the release. Soulds was taken into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant for the robbery of the Ion Bank in Waterbury, which occurred last Wednesday. Today, the NHPD obtained an arrest warrant for Thursday’s Webster Bank robbery.

Second Ebola test negative

In a Friday night email to the Yale Community, University President Peter Salovey said that a second test to confirm Ebola in a Yale doctoral student admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital came back negative.

Elm St. Webster Bank robbed

Police officials arrived at Webster Bank on Elm Street Thursday afternoon after the bank’s officials reported a robbery.
