F&ES professor dies at 78

Siccama joined the Yale faculty in 1967. A prominent field naturalist, he published over 120 papers and was considered an expert on forest ecosystems of the northeastern U.S.

The cupcake, plain and simple

In the menagerie of classic staples that is Katalina’s, there is perhaps no item more tried and true than the chocolate chip cookie. It’s not exactly your grandmother’s perfectly-baked recipe or your slightly-burnt childhood dessert or a grocery-store Mrs. Field’s variety — it’s just a well-meaning chocolate chip cookie plain and simple. Who could fault it for that?
