Police identified the suspect as Derrell Soulds, 38, labeled a parole absconder by NHPD spokesman David Hartman in the release. Soulds was taken into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant for the robbery of the Ion Bank in Waterbury, which occurred last Wednesday. Today, the NHPD obtained an arrest warrant for Thursday’s Webster Bank robbery.
The suspect—a 14 year old teenage boy—was arrested after his foster parent recognized him while watching WFSB news yesterday evening and contacted the police. Police are charging the suspect with arson in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal mischief in the first degree.
