A patient has escaped from the Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. The New Haven Police Department sent out a warning Thursday afternoon that the patient, Hector Delgado, 26, escaped from the institute on Wednesday by climbing a tree and jumping over the hospital’s outer wall. Assistant Police Chief Stephanie Redding, a 25-year NHPD veteran who has twice served as acting chief, will step down in July.
