Charges against former New Haven Alder Mike Stratton were dropped earlier this week after Stratton appeared in Superior Court.

On June 13, Stratton’s then-20-year-old girlfriend Courtney Darlington was arrested for third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace after the couple fought in his Crown Street apartment. Less than a month later, on July 2, an arrest warrant was issued for Stratton for the same charges, as well as a charge of disorderly conduct.

The assault charge against Stratton had previously been dropped, and on Wednesday, Judge Patrick Clifford nolled the case.

The New Haven Register reported yesterday both that charges against Darlington are still pending and that Darlington and Stratton have decided to get married.

Stratton served as Ward 19 Alder for nearly six months in 2014.
