After three calm months that followed four homicides this August, New Haven saw its 12th homicide of the year after a shooting this afternoon.

At 2:04 p.m. on Tuesday, the New Haven Police Department dispatched officers to 61 Warwick St. after 911 operators alerted police that a person had been shot, department spokesman David Hartman said in a Tuesday press release. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, 21-year-old New Haven resident Isaih Conyers.

Conyers was then rushed to the Yale-New Haven hospital, but was pronounced deceased upon his arrival. Hartman also said that police currently do not have a suspect, adding that police are urging witnesses to the crime or people with information about it to contact the NHPD.

The NHPD’s most recent homicide arrest, related to a 2012 murder, was on Nov. 14. That year, New Haven had a total of 14 homicides.
