Less than a mile away from Old Campus, a pedestrian was struck and killed in a car accident yesterday morning.

The accident happened at around 11 a.m., when a blue Audi TT struck a pedestrian as she crossed the street outside of her home on Wooster Square. She was treated by paramedics at the scene before she was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital. By 1 p.m. she was confirmed dead.

The woman was identified as 81 year-old New Haven resident Dolores Dogolo. She lived with her daughter in an apartment on Olive Street.

As of Thursday afternoon, no charges have been filed against the driver. The New Haven police are still investigating the accident.

Wooster Square was named New Haven’s first historic district in 1970.
