In a Friday night email to the Yale Community, University President Peter Salovey said that a second test to confirm Ebola in a Yale doctoral student admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital came back negative.

“I am delighted to report that Yale-New Haven Hospital has received a second confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that our School of Public Health doctoral student does not have the Ebola virus,” the email said. “This is terrific news.”
On Thursday, a preliminary test on the graduate student who recently returned from conducting research in Liberia came back negative. The patient was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night with “Ebola-like symptoms,” including a fever.
