Vanderlick reappointed SEAS dean

School of Engineering and Applied Science Dean T. Kyle Vanderlick will serve a second five-year term, University President Richard Levin and President-elect Peter Salovey announced in a joint statement.

In their statement, Levin and Salovey lauded Vanderlick for her work strengthening the engineering culture at Yale. In particular, the administrators praised the Center for Engineering Innovation and Design — which opened last August and features a machine shop, wet lab and conference rooms — for helping foster a supportive climate that encourages student entrepreneurship.

“This is an exciting time for engineering and applied science at Yale, and we look forward to the next steps under Dean Vanderlick’s leadership,” the statement said.

Before Yale, Vanderlick taught at Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
