THE NEWS

  • Students who pick Durfees over the d-hall for lunch are finding that their swipes aren’t going as far as they have in the past. Prices are up at the Old Campus convenience store, the first such price hike in three years. Why the jump? Find out in tomorrow’s News.
  • For over a year, City Hall and New Haven school board officials have been trying to create a “college-going culture” among youth in the Elm City. This past weekend, they took their message to the streets. On Saturday, 78 community and school district volunteers went “canvassing” in the Dixwell and Newhallville neighborhoods.
  • Though administrators have repeatedly said that Yale and Yale-NUS College are separate institutions, graduates of Yale and the Singaporean school will have largely the same access to Association of Yale Alumni resources.Yale-NUS graduates — whose degrees will be issued by the National University of Singapore, not Yale — will be considered “international affiliates” in the AYA, but not official Yale alumni. What privileges will they have?
