An email to students Wednesday announced what we’ve all been waiting for: the Hunger Games are coming to Yale.

Modeled after Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young adult franchise, Yale’s Hunger Games will require each of the twelve residential colleges to choose one boy and one girl, called tributes, to participate in a series of “tests of mental and physical skill” that will span the course of several hours, the email said.

“Game Maker” Yale B.U.T.A.N.E., which has organized various scavenger hunts and snowball fights in the past, asked students to submit up to two names into “the reaping.” Students can enter themselves into the reaping or submit names on behalf of others in their college. Tributes will be selected from the pool of submitted names. The more times a name is entered, the better chance that student has of being selected as tribute.

The deadline is midnight tonight. May the odds be ever in your favor.
