I’m glad to see a front that’s more open to the street, unlike the current colleges’ fully enclosed courtyards. It looks like the fence is still tall enough for security purposes—and, I have to admit, after having parts stolen off my bike on Old Campus, it’s nice to have a locked courtyard—but it’ll be neat that people in the courtyard and people on the street will be able to see one another. I’m all for breaking down Yale’s real and perceived insularity, and architecture does matter.
