THE NEWS

  • In the fall of 2013, the University will launch the first college bearing its name since Yale was founded nearly 300 years ago — a partnership with the National University of Singapore known as Yale-NUS College. Over Spring Break, two News reporters traveled to Singapore to report on this groundbreaking endeavor. The first of three dispatches from Singapore runs tomorrow.
  • With the appointment of four new assistant chiefs, New Haven Police Department Chief Dean Esserman hopes to restore stability to a department that has seen high leadership turnover in recent years.
  • At a Monday meeting of the Yale College Democrats, students showed a united front in ensuring Ward 1 remains dedicated to students. Uncertainty remains, though about the ward’s long-term future.
