THE NEWS

  • After a bitter campaign against Mayor John DeStefano Jr. in September’s primary, Anthony Dawson took a seat in the mayor’s administration on Friday.
  • Speculation on how the Rhodes Trust learned of an informal sexual assault complaint filed against Patrick Witt ’12 last semester has sparked campus discussion regarding the University’s confidentiality procedures for incidents of sexual misconduct. Although students and administrators are expected to adhere to confidentiality proceedings, University administrators said they recognized the difficulty in enforcing confidentiality requests.
  • Total applications to Yale’s master’s programs jumped 19 percent this year. The largest increases occurred in programs that professors said lead to promising job prospects during a time of economic uncertainty.
