THE NEWS

  • For the first time, the School of Medicine is taking a targeting lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and queer applicants in its recruitment efforts. Last month, the Med School realeased a LGBTQ-specific brochure, and plans to release this material in the official informational packets starting with this year’s entering class.
  • Students looking for a break from their school work can now download popular literature ranging from Twilight to The Great Gatsby onto their portable electronic devices. Through a two-year pilot program with OverDrive, an digital book distributer, this semester Yale University Library began offering students the opportunity to download popular eBooks and audiobooks onto devices such Kindles, iPads and smart phones in OverDrive’s first partnership with an Ivy League University.
