All roads lead to … love? An article in the New York Times on Friday profiled the life and love of Allison Pataki ’07 and David Levy ’07, who first kissed on the dance floor at Toad’s Place in the fall of their freshman year and were married on September 24.

Artistes, take note. The office of the associate dean for the arts launched the Yale Arts Calendar at artscalendar.yale.edu. The calendar is meant to be a hub for all arts-related events on campus. Anyone with a valid NetID can submit an event to the calendar.

A man of the people. We write to let you know that reporters have informed us that Yale Police Chief and email guru Ronnell Higgins was spotted dining with Davenport dean Ryan Brasseaux GRD ’08 in the college’s dining hall at noon on Monday.

Survey says. A survey from Public Policy Polling shows former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz ’83 trailing her opponent in the primary, Chris Murphy, 39-33 percent in the race for U.S. Senate. Among the most liberal voters, Bysiewicz leads by eight points. On the Republican side, wrestling executive Linda McMahon is thumping her closest oponent, former U.S. Rep. Chris Shays, taking 54 percent of the vote to his 19.

Apple Store gets Yale flavor. Black shields representing all 12 residential colleges were hung on the side wall of the Apple Store on Monday. The shields are made of solid stainless steel with an acid wash finish, a worker hanging the signs said.

The fares are too damn high. The Connecticut Department of Transporation announced Monday that rates to ride Metro North trains will jump 15 percent over the next three years to cover inflation and the cost of the new Metro North trains. By 2015, a one-way peak ticket from New Haven to New York City will rise as high as $22.25. The same trip currently costs $18.50. Fares for CTTransit buses will also rise 12 percent over the next three years.

Times they are a changing. The man who normally sells kettle corn outside Berkeley College was spotted on the corner of York and Chapel Monday afternoon.

Little Salad Competition. The Little Salad Shop will offer $1 off its smoothies, salads and dry goods for the month of October as part of a competition the shop is sponsoring among sororities and fraternities called “LettuceFest.”
