THE NEWS

  • The mental health fellows program is the result of a joint collaboration between the Yale College Council and Yale Health’s mental health and counseling department. YCC President Brandon Levin ’13 said the program will provide each college with a trained Yale mental health clinician to advise students on how best to navigate the University’s mental health resources.
  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation released its official audited crime data for 2010 on Monday, and New Haven recorded “painfully high” violent crime numbers according to Mayor John DeStefano Jr.
  • History of Art majors are expressing outrage this year over the major’s non-Western requirement which includes courses in African-American and pre-Columbian art. Though the requirement has been in place for several years, Mimi Yiengpruksawan, the major’s director of undergraduate studies, said the department has received more student queries about this requirement this fall than ever before.
