Fall Festival furnishes foreign flavors

The Yale College Council, in collaboration with Yale Dining, sponsored the annual Fall Festival on Old Campus. The event, held rom 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, allowed students to sample a variety of dishes from other cultures — such as “Traditional roast beef with Merlot sauce” from “Northern Europe.” Student bands such as The Black Marias provided live music at the event.

    I’ve never really liked these things. It makes it more difficult to get brunch, and the dishes aren’t really better or more eclectic than what’s already served in the dining halls. It is kind of nice to sit outside and eat, but most of us can already do that in our respective courtyards.

    They should use some of the international foods on a regular basis in the dining halls! The clam paella and gyros were really good!
