After months of anticipation, British retailer Jack Wills opened its York Street doors last week.

Sandwiched between J.Press and Gant on Yale’s own “Prep Row,” Jack Wills sells “fabulously British goods for the university crowd,” according to its website. After a decade operating in Britain and Ireland, the retailer made its North American debut last summer, opening stores in Nantucket, Boston and Martha’s Vineyard.

“For us it was a natural step to open a store on-campus as we think the Yale student body and Ivy League lifestyle perfectly embody the spirit of the brand,” said Olly Finding, Jack Wills’ international marketing director, in February.

In addition to sponsoring events at Toad’s Place, since 2008 Jack Wills has supported an annual Harvard-Yale polo match in the United Kingdom.
