Sorry, Yalies: The James Franco GRD ’16 undergraduate production will be taking the actor’s name off its marquee.

“The Stargazer,” a musical co-produced by Franco will not go up this semester as planned, according to a statement e-mailed to the News by director Ari Berkowitz ’12. The change is a result of Franco’s departure from the show.

“Due to unforeseen challenges, Mr. Franco has ceased to be part of this project,” Berkowitz wrote. “This change has necessitated that the current show be re-worked with the hope of a later production date.”

According to its Yale Drama Coalition listing, the show was scheduled to be performed April 7 through 9.
