In her first year, Millie Tomlinson ’14 has turned many heads as one of the top players on the women’s squash team (17–0, 6–0 Ivy), which won its first Ivy League title and national championship in five years. She dropped just one game in her first season at Yale, and her skillful play has earned her a spot in the finals of the individual championships in Hanover, N.H.

Tomlinson’s teammate, captain Logan Greer ’11, fell in the quarterfinals against Harvard’s Nirasha Gurgue. Greer won the first two games before dropping the next three and the match, 2–3.

In another quarterfinal Trinity’s No. 2 Catalina Pelaez took on No. 7 Tomlinson in a battle of the highest ranked freshmen. Tomlinson brushed the higher seeded Pelaez aside 11–9, 11–3, and 11–6.

Tomlinson faced Gurgue, who upset her teammate, Greer earlier, in the semifinals. However, she had little trouble with the Crimson player and dismissed her in straight games, 3–0.

In the final, Tomlinson will run into Harvard’s No. 1 Laura Gemmell, who is yet to lose a match in intercollegiate play and is the top ranked women’s squash player in the country.

Play starts at 12:30 pm and will decide the winner of the Ramsay Cup.
