BOOLA BOOLA | Elis still No. 3

The men’s hockey team remains in the third spot in both national polls released Monday. But Yale earned more first-place votes and more points overall than last week.

Boston College had been a unanimous No. 1 pick in last week’s polls. But it slipped in a weekend series with unranked Northeastern, tying one game and losing another.

Former No. 2 North Dakota, which played two games against unranked St. Cloud State, complemented a tie of its own with a 3–2 win Saturday that was enough to vault it into the No. 1 spot.

The Elis, meanwhile, routed Quinnipiac on Friday and then came back from an early three-goal deficit to beat Princeton on Sunday. That performance convinced of 24 of 84 voters across the USCHO and USA Today polls to give the Elis their first-place votes. Boston College received fewer first-place votes, but enough high rankings overall to stay just ahead of Yale in the polls.

Tiny Merrimack College — home to just 2000 students — jumped to No. 4 overall from No.6, and earned its first ever first place vote.
