Biel ’13 recounts her experience in Egypt for Forbes

In an article posted to Forbes Thursday, Erin Biel ’13 recounted her time studying abroad in Egypt as the nation descended into political turmoil.

The article tells of Biel’s experiences in the war-torn African nation on a daily basis, a tale Forbes calls “harrowing.”

“I heard the shots again and turned to see hoards of people rushing toward me,” Biel writes. “I bolted down three street blocks. The sense of chaos and danger that I had heard about on TV the night before was all too real.”

Biel returned to Yale last week after being evacuated from Egypt.

Mr. Serna, I don’t really think that “war-torn” would be an apposite characterization of the recent events in Cairo. I am pretty sure that there was no war going on.
