The ECAC named Ryan Rondeau ’11 Goalie of the Week after he earned his third shutout of the season this weekend, playing against Harvard. Rondeau, who earned the honor once already this season, was also in net for Yale’s win over Dartmouth Saturday, and stopped 59 of the 61 shots he saw in the two games.

Forget Alpha Delta. The Morse College buttery served “menzels” Tuesday night, a variation of the “wenzel,” a New Haven late-night food staple. The buttery managers told the News they sold about 15 of the sandwiches, which consisted of four chicken nuggets smothered in hot sauce with melted cheese on a toasted bun.

Not too shabby. Only one week into its three-week campaign, the Senior Class Gift has achieved 50 percent participation, raising over $22,000, according to Jocelyn Polce, the assistant director of the Yale Alumni Fund.

Cold weather getting to you? Piersonites, at least, can snuggle up in Pierson Snuggies. The Snuggies cost $10 and come with a book light, according to an e-mail from Pierson Operations Manager Susan Anderson.

University President Richard Levin reappointed Yale School of Drama Dean James Bundy to another five-year term as both the dean and the artistic director of the Yale Repertory Theatre, Levin wrote in an e-mail to the drama school community. The term is effective July 1, 2012.

Levin and Provost Peter Salovey held a “town hall meeting” for faculty and staff in Battell Chapel Tuesday morning. At the meetings, held twice a semester, an officer of the University outlines his or her work and addresses audience questions. Over 700 faculty and staff members preregistered to attend Tuesday’s event, according to Yale’s Office of Public Affairs and Communications.

Do they discuss the endowment while they strum? The Professors of Bluegrass, the band featuring Provost Peter Salovey and other Yale administrators and faculty members, will perform at Brandeis University Saturday. They were profiled Tuesday on the school’s Office of Communications website.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announced he intends to form a new state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the New Haven Register reported Tuesday.
