• Yale has not had a snow day since 1978, and it looks like today will be no exception. Professors said in interviews Tuesday evening that they would do their utmost to reach their classes today.
  • Yale College Council is working to create a peer-advising program for sophomores, but students interviewed questioned the usefulness of such a program. Annie Shi ‘12, leader of the Mental Health project group for the YCC, said the new “Residential College Counselors” would be like “hands-off Freshman Counselors.”
  • Ken “Popsie” Lassen did not invent the hamburger – his grandfather did – but he did keep alive New Haven family business as we know it. Lassen, who died Dec. 21 of kidney failure at age 93, was the third generation owner and proprietor of Louis’ Lunch, the New Haven lunch joint world-known for inventing the modern-day hamburger.
