The Mory’s Council is seeking applicants for a new Mory’s Student Board, which would plan student events and “help enhance the role of Mory’s and the Mory’s experience” for Yale undergraduate and graduate students, council member Steven Blumenfeld ’11 announced in an email to members of the club.

Mory’s Temple Bar, which reopened in August after closing for financial reasons in 2008, already made efforts last semester to be more inclusive. Mory’s Council President Christopher Getman ’64 told the News in November that the club had lowered membership costs to bring in a more diverse crowd of students.

The Student Board, which in addition to planning events would “promote Mory’s amongst the student body,” according to the email, seems to increase student involvement in the club in much the same vein. According to Mory’s general manager Robin Soltesz, the Student Board was Blumenfeld’s idea and is still in it’s very early stages. “We haven’t even met about it yet,” she said.

Mory’s members interested in joining the Student Board must fill out a form and submit it by Sunday, January 16.
