Because of the snowstorm on its way to New Haven, the city has announced an on-street parking ban on streets around Yale.

From 11:00 pm Wednesday until 6:00 a.m. Thursday and from 11:00 p.m. Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday no parking is allowed on all downtown streets (streets with in the area bounded by Howe Street, Tower Parkway, Grove Street, State Street and North Frontage Road). Additionally, there is no parking on major streets posted as snow Emergency routes citywide, within 25 feet of any intersection citywide, and in front of any bus stop or fire hydrant citywide.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 10 to 15 inches of snow beginning at later this evening and continuing through most of the day tomorrow. Students should not expect a snow day, however, as the University has not declared a snow day in more than 30 years.

UPDATE 4:25 p.m.: The National Weather Service is now forecasting 18 to 24 inches for New Haven.
