BOOLA BOOLA | Allain ’80 featured in New York Times

Men’s hockey head coach Keith Allain ’80 has made headlines across the hockey world this season. His Yale team is entering its sixth week at No. 1 in the country and his winter break stint coaching the American team at the World Junior Hockey championships resulted in a bronze medal.

Now Allain is getting attention in one of the nation’s most widely circulating newspapers. The New York Times profiled Allain’s journey from Yale goalie to Proctor and Gamble intern to Swedish Division III coach in their sports page today.

“I took the job first and foremost because it’s Yale,” Allain told the Times in reference to his departure from assistant coaching the NHL’s St. Louis Blues to come to New Haven. “I don’t think I would have looked for college if it wasn’t for Yale.”
