Yalie AIDS activists make Times

Two Yalies, Gregg Gonsalves ’11 and David Carel ’13, were featured in an article in today’s print edition of the New York Times for their roles in recent protests against President Barack Obama and White House officials to lobby for global AIDS funding.

The protests are representative of a new type of college activism, headed by a small group of Ivy League students, which is marked by the use of confrontational tactics to “get under Mr. Obama’s skin,” the article said.

Today, the News looked at the history HIV/AIDS activism at Yale and in New Haven.
