WikiLeaks is at it again! But can the rhetoric of former Yale Law School Dean Harold Hongju Koh stop the organization from releasing 250,000 secret U.S. State Department documents?

Koh, who also serves at the legal adviser to the State Department, wrote a letter warning Julian Assange, head of WikiLeaks, that releasing those documents would risk the lives of journalists, human rights activists and soldiers. He also wrote that the documents the whistle-blower organizer intent to publish would “place at risk on-going cooperation between countries…to confront common challenges from terrorism to pandemic diseases to nuclear proliferation.”

The letter also stated that the State Department has been in contact with representatives of The New York Times, The Guardian and Der Spiegel, who have already received the WikiLeak documents. In July, WikiLeaks gave the three news organizations advanced copies of over 92,000 secret documents about the war in Afghanistan.

WikiLeaks is expected to release the secret documents this weekend.
