More places ban Four Loko

Michigan’s liquor control board voted 2-1 Thursday to ban sales of the alcoholic energy drink in the state, the New York Daily News reported.

The ruling, which demands that Four Loko be off manufacturers’ shelves within 30 days, makes Michigan the second state to ban the drink, after Utah. The Pennsylvania liquor control board encouraged distributors to cease sales of the product. Washington state’s attorney general Rob McKenna called for a nationwide Food and Drug Administration ban of the drink last month after nine students required hospitalization after drinking Four Lokos. McKenna said he plans to work with the state’s liquor control board to secure a ban in the Evergreen State.
