Friday’s Buzz: 11.5.10

THE NEWS

  • The Yale School of Management is in the money. Wilbur L. Ross ’59 donated $10 million to the SOM last Wednesday. The money will go towards the library in the new building, which will be built on Whitney Avenue and Sachem Street.
  • New Haven is prepared to go to bat for Morris Cove residents. At a rally of nearly 100 people Saturday at Pardee Seawall along New Haven harbor, state and local legislators assured angry residents that everything possible was being done to prevent Morris Cove from becoming the potential storage site for dredged material from Bridgeport Harbor. The dredging plan, issued by the Army Corps of Engineers, involves depositing close to 200,000 cubic yards of material the Corps considers unsuitable for open water disposal to the New Haven Harbor.
