Voting locations shift for federal elections

Voters, take note: because of the way ward lines are drawn for federal elections, Pierson and Davenport colleges will switch voting locations with Silliman and Timothy Dwight colleges.

Students who are in Pierson and Davenport should vote at the Wexler-Grant School at 55 Foote St., while Silliman and Timothy Dwight residents should cast their ballots at the New Haven public library at 133 Elm Street.

Even though Pierson and Davenport technically lie within the geographic boundaries of Ward 1, federal election law mandates that the residents of those colleges vote at the Ward 22 polling place, Yale College Democrats President Ben Stango ’11 said. Ward lines also shift to place Silliman and TD in Ward 1, even though they normally lie in Ward 22, he added.
