After it was announced that, yet again, Harvard College administrators would not allow kegs at this year’s Harvard-Yale football tailgate, The Crimson reported that Harvard’s Undergraduate Council is making efforts to get permission to have kegs at the tailgates of future installments of the Game.

A member of the Undergraduate Council told the Crimson that the Boston Police Department is “the largest barrier” to allowing kegs at tailgates at the Harvard Stadium.

In the article the ban was criticized as a financial burden:

“We’re going to end up buying the same amount of beer,” senior Colin J. Donovan, a co-chair of the Quincy House Council and a co-sponsor of the bill, told the Crimson. “I don’t think people are going to drink less if it’s in a can than if it’s in a cup.”
