Monday’s Buzz: 10.11.10

THE NEWS

  • Gant is coming back to New Haven. The clothing brand, which has its origins in the Elm City, will open a store on the corner of York and Elm streets.
  • Jordi Gassó looks into Yale Bowls, a company that makes bowls and pens. The company is owned and operated by a Yale professor, Scott Strobel, who is on sabbatical. Strobel salvages wood from trees that have to be cut down on campus.
  • An associate master of Timothy Dwight College, Sally Brenzel is also a master of Pilates. Co-owned by Brenzel and her long time friend Amanda Mia, Workout on Whitney, formerly Workout on Wooster, relocated from 214 Wooster Street in July to its current location at 29 Whitney Avenue. The new studio is divided into three rooms: a indoor cycling room, a dance studio and a Pilates Reformer studio.
