The raid at the Morse-Stiles screw early Saturday morning has already begun to affect the way Yale students spend their weekends.

In an e-mail sent out to Saybrook College students, the Saybrook Student Activities Committee announced that the college’s screw will no longer be held at Elevate this coming Friday. Instead, it has been rescheduled for November because “it’s simply too soon to hold an event at Elevate,” the e-mail said.

The e-mail also cited “understandable” student safety concerns arising from recent events.

Two other New Haven establishments were also raided around the same time the Alchemy/Elevate building was raided, New Haven Police Department spokesman Joe Avery said in a Saturday press release.40

The Saybrook screw will be held in the college’s dining hall, Saybrook SAC Chair Allie Bauer ’12 said.
