THE NEWS

  • A New Haven institution. Vespoli USA, Inc. is the self-proclaimed “Number One” producer of crew boats in the world, and the 30-year-old business is based out of the Elm City. For many years , Vespoli supplied all of the crafts for Yale’s crew teams, but recently, the men’s teams have elected to race in competitors’ models.
  • iLawsuit. Mirror Worlds, LLC, a computer software company started at Yale in 1996, is suing Apple computers for violating the patent rights to the technology behind popular Mac features such as Spotlight, Cover Flow and Time Machine.
  • Behind the bars: Tomorrow’s WEEKEND cover takes an inside look at New Haven’s prison system.
