As the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs prepares to open July 1, administrators this week introduced a new opportunity for students studying international affairs.

Students in the international studies major were invited to a “Jackson Roundtable” held Thursday afternoon, the inaugural discussion in a series set to take place on the first Thursday of every month, according to an announcement from Associate Director Larisa Satara. Starting in the fall, the Jackson Institute will be the administrative home of the undergraduate international studies major and the postgraduate program in international relations, previously run by the International Affairs Council.

“We would love to hear what you think about the current major and how you think it can be improved,” Satara said. “Your thoughts and ideas are integral to the Institute’s success.”

Jim Levinsohn, the director of the Jackson Institute, said in February that the institute will increase the number of offerings in the IS and IR programs, as well as the number of international practitioners visiting campus.
