Wednesday’s Buzz: 3.31.10

THE NEWS

  • Hag sameach — it’s Passover! Every year, Yale residential colleges host seders for students and faculty celebrating the Jewish holiday. Staff reporter Aliyya Swaby takes a look inside the tradition.

  • A group of seniors are building a racecar to compete in an international formula series competition that is annually sponsored by the Society of Automobile Engineers. “Even when you go back to your room to do homework, you only think about the car, because it’s so cool that your classes just come to a secondary level,” said Henry Misas ’10, one of the racecar’s creators.
  • “The Blue Book”: another casualty of the Internet age. Next year, students will not receive a physical copy of the Yale College Programs of Study book unless they specify their desire online. In addition, “the Blue Book” will be redesigned to look more like the Yale Publications “family” of seventeen publications, with a seal replacing the traditional photograph on the cover.
