Allain a finalist for coaching prize

M. HOCKEY | Men’s hockey head coach Keith Allain ’80 has been voted by his fellow ECAC coaches to be one of four finalists for the Tim Taylor Coach of the Year Award.

Allain won the award last year after leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament in his third season as Yale head coach.

Since Allain took over the head coaching position in 2006, Yale’s record is 70-46-10.

Allain and the Elis will try to make it 71 on Friday as they host Brown in the ECAC Quarterfinals.

While the “Tim Taylor Coach of the Year Award” sounds a bit like the “Toyota Car Company of the Year Award” or the “Bernie Madoff Investor of the Year Award,” Allain’s record speaks for itself. He is clearly a fantastic coach and the primary force behind the turnaround in Yale hockey. Congrats on another great season.

He’s certainly deserving…the results he’s achieved in the past years are remarkable.

He is deserving…and not just for the teams results and accomplishments, But also for making each player a better and stronger man. The guys will always look back with great appreciation for how coach Allain helped mold them into men with great character.
