M. HOCKEY | For the second consecutive year, No. 6 Yale will be hosting Brown in the ECAC men’s hockey quarterfinals.

The best-of-three quarterfinal series starts on Friday and continues on Saturday and, if necessary, on Sunday. All of the games will be played at Ingalls Rink.

The 11th-place Bears (10-18- 4, 6-12- 4 ECAC) advanced past the first round after upsetting sixth-place RPI on Sunday, 3-2, to take the best-of-three series, two games to one.

Yale (19- 7- 3, 15- 5- 2) defeated Brown in both of their meetings earlier this season.

In November, right winger Broc Little ’11 scored the game-winner in overtime to defeat Brown, 6-5. Then, in January the Elis exploded with 53 shots on goal in their 8-5 home victory.

Last year in the quarterfinals, Yale swept Brown 4-2 and 2-0.

RPI is the only team to have defeated the Bulldogs twice this season, but luckily for Yale, the two will not be meeting again this season.

The Elis have not lost to the Bears since December 2006.

The other ECAC quarterfinal matchups will feature ninth-seed at second-seed Cornell, seventh-seed Quinnipiac at third-seed Union, and fifth-seed St. Lawrence at fourth-seed Colgate.
