Ernesto Zedillo GRD ’81, the former Mexican president and Yale globalization czar, has a new gig: He’s the most recent addition to the board of Citigroup Inc., according to an article published Friday by Bloomberg.

The recruitment of Zedillo, who led Mexico’s financial recovery in the aftermath of the country’s 1994 economic collapse, is part of an “overhaul” of the top-tier administration at Citi, Bloomberg said.

“Zedillo’s extensive experience as a world leader and his expertise in global economics make him a valuable addition to the board,” Citigroup Chairman Richard Parsons Parsons said in a statement.
