  • As departments look to cut back on expenses, administrators are starting to limit their searches for visiting lecturers to cities directly surrounding New Haven in an attempt to save on travel costs.

  • Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald, the British ambassador to the United States, spoke at Yale Tuesday, and talked with the News about relations between Yale and Great Britain: “For the British government, a key part of the job of the British ambassador in America is to interact with America’s top universities and make sure that the linkages — academic and human — between the universities and British institutions are in good health, and that’s undoubtedly the case with Yale,” Sheinwald said.
